Emphasis on Yoga Philosophy
My teaching is built on a strong foundation of traditional yogic philosophy. All innovations are built on the bedrock of tremendous commitment to the truths of yoga. My teaching is an approach to practice rather than focused on a specific style. In class, philosophical concepts are explored in an embodied way through physical practice.
Living Yoga in the World
My greatest commitment is to living the practice of yoga in the world, and teaching others to do the same. What we practice on rubber rectangles in studios and serene spaces is just the start. It’s the practice for the practice— where we hone the skills of yoga with lower stakes in the hopes of bringing them outside. The poses are impersonal and archetypal situations that are a clearer mirror for our patterns so we may see them with less clouding when we’re in our lives.
Commitment to Practice
Yoga teaches us that everything is about relationship.
My yoga practice is a decade old and I see how much that relationship has taught and is still teaching me. How it holds a mirror to my life and asks me who I'm being and who I really am. Relationships will do that. There have been ups and downs, but ultimately all for my own becoming even when really challenging.
